Who We Support

The United Fund of Jackson County provides financial aid to community-serving agencies. United Fund was formed several years ago to conduct one fund drive per year to raise money for the operation of the participating community agencies. This fund-raising program is directed, and the funds are administered by a group of 15 volunteer County Board Members, five from Wellston, five from Jackson, and five from Oak Hill.

AMERICAN RED CROSS, JACKSON COUNTY CHAPTER

Provides county citizens with life-giving blood, provides disaster relief, financial aid, food, clothing, shelter and is the communication link between county service men and women and their families. Classes in first-aid, water safety, swimming lessons, home nursing and CPR are available by certified instructors.

CAPS

Provides 24/7 victim services in Southern Ohio since 1990. Our mission is to provide direct advocate response to victims of crime without regard to race, sex, gender, religion, sexual orientation.

FOOD PANTRY/CLOTHESLINE

Provides citizens of Jackson County and their families with emergency food and clothing services in time of need and disaster.

JACKSON AREA FAMILY ACTIVITY CENTER

Promotes fellowships in the community through the following basic programs, recreation, health and physical education and various parent-child programs.

RECREATION COMMISSION OF OAK HILL BOOSTER CLUB

Sponsors athletic as well as recreational programs for county teens and adults. The club works on a year-round basis and provides services to Oak Hill area residents.

SOUTHERN HILLS ARTS COUNCIL

A non-profit organization serving Jackson County and surrounding area. The Council works to enhance the quality of life in the region by encouraging and stimulating the practice and appreciation of the arts.

THE FULLER CENTER FOR HOUSING OF JACKSON COUNTY

Builds houses in partnership with God's people in need.

LILLIAN JONES MUSEUM

The county's museum encouraging and preserving the history of Jackson County.

MAKE WELLSTON BEAUTIFUL

Operates and provides recreational activities (softball, baseball, volleyball) and beautification and maintenance of ball fields and bike path. Programs have been extended to include fall baseball, softball and soccer.

JESUS IN THE HILLS

A volunteer operated non-profit organization that provides the citizens of Lick, Liberty, Scioto and Jackson townships along with Senior Citizens and disabled citizens of Jackson County with a 4 day emergency food supply each month.

JAFE

Helps provide food to people in Jackson County.

SALVATION ARMY

Assists the community with emergency needs.

SCOUT TROOPS AND PACKS IN JACKSON COUNTY

Provides growing and vigorous scouting programs for girls and boys of the county with local adults as leaders.

JACKSON COUNTY BOARD ON AGING, INC.

With centers in Wellston, Oak Hill and Jackson, works to increase the quality of life for the elderly by giving assistance through companionship, recreation programs, information, referrals, health and outreach services and nutrition programs and also provides transportation to doctors, dentists and for other necessary errands.

COAD/RSVP OF THE OHIO VALLEY

Provides volunteer opportunities for people who wish to serve their communities in impactful ways. RSVP manages a number of programs which make a meaningful difference in the lives of others, as well as referring volunteers to partner nonprofit agencies to help enhance their capacity to complete their missions.

J.C.R.D. (Jackson County Recreation Department)

Provides the City of Jackson with sports events to enhance their leisure time.

J-VAC INDUSTRIES

Serves adults from Jackson County who are eligible to receive services through DD.

JACKSON COUNTY 4-H PROGRAM/ADVISORY COUNCIL

Promotes youth through 4-H activities and the fair.

OAKS UNITED, INC.

A non-profit organization providing charitable relief for individuals in the Oak Hill area, thus far exclusively through a program known as the Growing Oaks Food Program, a backpack program helping to alleviate local child hunger.

MY BROTHER'S PLACE

A food pantry and used clothing store operated by the Wellston Ministerial Association serving the residents of the Wellston City School District.

OAK HILL FOOD PANTRY

To provide food resources to people in our community who are in need due to financial hardship, tragedy, or other difficulties. We strive to build a strong community partnership by providing hands-on opportunities for neighbors to help neighbors.

TRUTH SPORTS

Our truth sport ministry goals are to show the good news about Jesus Christ, while offering a first class experience to all participants and their families.
